At Bonnie Doon Dental Care, we make a real effort to treat our patients and their families the way we would like to be treated. As a solo practitioner, Dr. Heath sees all of our patients, which allows us to avoid confusion and provide continuity of care. Many of our loyal patients have been coming to this office for quite some time. In fact, there are a number of families who have grandparents, parents, and grandchildren who attend. From our receptionists who greet patients when they arrive, to our dental hygienists and dental assistants, to Dr. Heath himself, we focus on creating a positive, gentle, friendly environment for our patients and friends. We also believe that patients’ oral health is best maintained when they are involved in the decision-making process of choosing which treatment best fits their situation. As a result, our clinical staff spends time explaining the dental treatments before and during the process to ensure our patients’ peace of mind. We are also committed to working with your dental insurance providers, and do our best to make the process of accessing your benefits as convenient and hassle-free as possible.
Dr. Clint Heath grew up in southern Alberta, and, following high school, attended the University of Alberta where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with Distinction. He was then accepted into the Department of Dentistry in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta, and graduated in 1999. He was also the winner of the J.H. Gibb Memorial Award for Operative Dentistry in his graduating class. Since graduation, he has worked in Edmonton, and became the owner of Bonnie Doon Dental Care in 2008. He attends dental education courses on a regular basis, and follows the latest trends in dental materials and techniques closely.
Dr. Heath is married and has three children. He enjoys golf, basketball, reading, spending time with his family, and travelling.
Vanessa, Dental Receptionist
Vanessa is often the first person you see when you walk through the door! She can recognize almost any face or voice from her many years of working with Dr. Heath. She has lived in Newfoundland and Ontario (where she attended Seneca College in 1996), and for the past 16 years in Alberta. Vanessa is a huge animal lover, and enjoys spending time outdoors camping with her husband, 3 children, 3 dogs and 2 cats. She also loves to sing, swim, and has a zest for life!
Cheryl, Dental Hygienist
Cheryl graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alberta in 1978, and has been working in the clinic for over 30 years! Cheryl has a bright and friendly personality, and many of her patients ask for her by name every time. Cheryl is also the proud mother of three grown sons and enjoys her time out of the office playing golf, gardening, travelling, listening to music, and attending group exercise classes.
Liz, Dental Hygienist
Liz graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alberta in 1995, and has been in the office for almost ten years. Liz really shines when she is educating her patients on their dental health, and you can always hear her and her patients laughing through the appointments! During her spare time, Liz enjoys time with her large family, salsa dancing, and spending time in the outdoors.
Caylie, Registered Dental Assistant
Caylie has been with the office since the spring of 2015, after graduating from NAIT in 2014. When Caylie is not assisting Dr. Heath, she keeps busy with other tasks around the office such as reception, inventory, and creating new marketing. Her background in child and youth care is also a great asset to our office and she excels with our young patients! In her off hours, Caylie enjoys spending most of her time Latin dancing, travelling to sunny places, or working out.
Meredith, Registered Dental Assistant
Meredith is our pleasant and world travelling dental assistant. She graduated from NAIT in 2009, and has been with Dr. Heath since the summer of 2015. Meredith has a way of putting patients and co-workers at ease due to her soft and funny approach. When not at work, she loves to travel, attend live music shows, practice yoga, and try new recipes. She is originally from small town Alberta, but has called Edmonton home for 8 years.
